The La Maddalena Archipelago, in the north of Sardinia.

The La Maddalena archipelago lies off the Costa Smeralda, in the north of Sardinia, in Italy: sixty granite islands protected as an Italian national park. Its 180 kilometres of coastline hold more than 300 beaches, in white, gold and pink sand, and a few of them are counted among the finest in the world. Old military forts still stand on the hills, and the Ponte della Moneta leads across to Caprera, the island where Giuseppe Garibaldi chose to live and where his house is now a museum. This is also the world stage of Italian sailing, in the regattas of the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda. Nowhere else in Sardinia does the sea change colour so many times in a single day.
